Traffic Sponsorship
Whilst the major traffic congestion occurs in the centres of Nelspruit, Middelburg and Witbank, MPowerFM’s footprint includes major National routes. This means that many a local businessman, reps and transport companies remain active throughout the province. To this end, MPowerFM reports on regional traffic.
MPowerFM receives their information from the Provincial Traffic Department as well as the local Traffic Department in the Mbombela municipal district and enjoys a great relationship with many listeners who regularly update them via sms and call-ins to pass on vital information. MPowerFM also enjoys an excellent relationship with TRAC and receives constant updates on the N4 route.
Typically, MPowerFM reports on emergencies, accidents, congestion, traffic flow, road works, road closures, smile zones (when they tell their listeners where to slow down), up-coming special events and alternative routes. MPowerFM also tries, where they can, to include a safety tip.
Weekday Traffic bulletins take place at the following times:
06:28, 06:58, 07:28, 07:58, 08:28, 16:28, 16:58, 17:28 and 17:58
(5 spots in Breakfast Show and 4 spots in the Afternoon Drive)
Each traffic report will consist of a recorded billboard before each report e.g. –
“Traffic by EASTVIEW BMW – SHEER DRIVING PLEASURE”
OR
“Traffic by EASTVIEW BMW – 3 EMNOTWENI DRIVE RIVERSIDE PARK NELSPRUIT”
OR
“Traffic by EASTVIEW BMW – CAR OF THE YEAR NO MATTER THE YEAR”
All the reports will then be closed off with the same billboard or something else.
